The Grims had a home fixture against top of the table Old Willies. Willies came into it of the back of their first loss of the season so we had some hope that we could grab something from the game.

Preparation was much better this week and we didn’t go 4-0 in 10 minutes this week, a much more encouraging start for the team working hard and lots of spare legs on the bench ready to come on. The first goal came from a P flick, after a stick tackle from 1 or 2 of our defenders and we were 1-0 down. Another swift goal before half time and we were 2-0 down at HT not discouraged about this as well felt we were still in it.

The next goal was crucial and whoever got the goal would be in the driving seat, unfortunately, Canterbury didn’t get that and we were 3-0 down from a short corner rebound. We were still in the game but Willies kept piling the pressure on, unfortunately another well worked goal left us at 4-0, shortly after 5-0… a couple minutes from time a very rare dragflick (if you can call it that) from Hursty got us on the scoreboard and ruined their clean sheet.

Onto Cliftonvile next weekend who sit bottom of the table, a chance for us to get 3 points after 2 disappointing weeks with 0 points.
