In what we knew was going to be a tough game, the Pilgrims travelled down to Folkestone who are currently second in the table. The boys were excited to welcome Ben Lawford and Richard Sabine to the squad to give us an extra push in the game. The Pilgrims came out strong with some great teamwork and a high work rate keeping the score down to 1-1 at half time. A positive team talk from coach Valentine saw the boys head back out with their heads up high ready to go in the second half. Unfortunately Folkestone’s forwards were too strong for us leading to 3 more goals going into our net. In the last play of the game Hursty stepped up for a flick and put it straight into the body of the ex Canterbury Keeper leading to a rebound that was swept up by Mr Keir himself Making the final score 4-2.
The boys will come back stronger next week as we face Gore Court on bottom pitch 12pm start
