The Bachelor Coop Millers travelled with a bare 11 this week, which included one player who made the journey despite being half-man half-Lemsip! Getting into their stride in the opening ten, the visitors had the better of the opening exchanges. Unfortunately, losing James Long to a pulled hamstring after 15minutes meant that the Millers were vulnerable as they readjusted their formation and, regrettably, they shipped two quick goals. However, as the match developed they gradually regained their composure and came very close to pulling one back almost immediately. When an ‘exuberant’ tackle saw Tunbridge Wells temporarily reduced to 10men, Ollie Neal managed to reduce the arrears to a single goal with a well-taken effort from the top of the D.

Half time was a surprisingly positive affair and the second half saw James ‘hamstrung’ Long returning to the pitch, to lurk in the opposition twenty-five as a target man. The visitors played an impressive short, sharp passing game but, unfortunately, Tunbridge Wells still managed to add a 3rd goal ten minutes in. However, other than this minor blemish, the Millers dominated the half and created continual chances through open play as well as forcing a series of short corners from which the home keeper made some well-timed and crucial saves.

The match finished 3-1 and saw tough but impressive Millers debuts for Gregor Paterson and Teddy Ridings. Man of the match goes to a marauding Martin Long-Castro who was a continual threat throughout the game.
