Dear Diary it was soooooo wet. Today the ladies 2’s took on BBHC. We started our morning very early, a good quick team chat in the cabin from nathan gave us plenty of time for a good all round warm up. We started the first half with some very nice hockey and a lovely straight strike from the top by our returning Abbie Bean (with some interesting ankle braces on) gave us a 1-0 lead. Then came the second from the irish when she chipped it over the keeper, 2-0! Then a messy moment in the D, chirpy decided she wanted in on the action and sent into the back of the goal. Then the magic happened, we were 3-0 up when our amazing defender Jaime Cooper made a fantastic run into the D, absolutely smashed it towards the goal, through the legs of the CB and the legs of the keeper, bottom corner, WHAT A GOAL!!! 4-0. Half time. Half time snack if some jaffa cakes nathan sent us back out. After some scrappy hockey unlike the first half, the irish decided to be greedy and get another. 5-0 to canterbury. Some more scrappy hockey follow up until the final whistle, what a win for the girls. A well deserved MOM for Lorna the full back who didn’t even bother to be there to revive her congrats. DOD was very fairly awards to the child of the team for throwing a paddy, which included a lovely stomp… Vicky (aka the irish)
