Despite the score-line, this game was a fairly even encounter. A goal for Tom Newell who reacted fastest to a short corner rebound, from a Reef Upton drag flick, was the difference between the two sides for most of the 1st half. Unfortunately, a quick break from Old Willy’s just before half time levelled the score.
Old Willy’s came out hard in the second half and managed to add a second from a short corner routine, within five minutes of the restart. Despite enjoying lots of possession and coming close to equalising on several occasions, the Millers were unable to capitalise on their pressure.
Conceding a third goal from another well-practised short corner routine, in the final minute, left the home side with too much to do and too little time to do it. Nonetheless, the Millers will take heart from another good performance despite the result.
