Gorgeous day to play away at Tunbridge Wells, however their facilities were lacking heavily :/ Had to pee in a portable toilet that stank, grim. anyways, started off so so so strong, with a 1-0 lead by alex to rattle our opposition. Not long after, we conceded by a short corner routine. We were in for a tough match. Some brilliant play and passing in our first half. Cara was our first recipient of a green card. A lovely bit of play won us a short corner, however their first runner stopped the ball with the back stick (sorry mate you can’t do that) that won us a penalty flick. Chirpy stepped up and slotted it away with ease. Lovely stuff, 2-1 and we went in for half time.
An encouraging team talk led us into the second half where we knew we were going to have to play some of our best hockey to keep the team at the top of the league at bay. Alex was our second recipient of a green card, leaving us with a team of 10 to hold back a strong opposition. We kept our composure and kept attacking their D where a lovely rebound hit from Cara gave us a 3-1 lead. When reviewing our performance, I can confidently say that we played some of our best hockey and really showed them what we were made of. I would like to finish this off by giving Rachel a shout out, sorry queen heheh.
