Dear diary
It was sooo much warmer than expected. We started the game with the majority of the possession. Our press could be likened to the Great Wall of China and South Saxons had difficulty penetrating through to the D. From Alex’s magic touch a short corner was secured. A lovely drag out from Chirpy, stopped by the magnificent Rachel, absolutely baffed by EJ into the bottom right corner. The ringing of the backboard got us all going to halftime. Nathan’s inspiring halftime team talk, coupled with the drone being grounded (because of the astounding play) meant we went in to the 2nd half raring to go. From Jamie, to Amy, to Freya, to Lorna, to Alice, to Rachel, to Martha, to Becca, to EJ, to Alex, to Chirpy, who passed to Cara, who finished top bins. The final 30 seconds, the opposite umpire blew on the wrong D and we got our 4th, 5th and 6th short corners of the game. Alas we could not covert and the game ended 2-0. Onto the next one, a home-turf derby.
