Dear Diary,
It was sooooo hot! With a very promising start Canterbury ladies 2’s defended against a quick and young folkestone squad. We had equal circle penetrations with neither teams converting their chances. New coach Nathan’s reinforcing his new plan and tactics worked as solid as a rock during the first half and finishing it 0-0. At the start of the second half Folkestone came back strong and we didn’t anticipate the quick and powerful 1,2 through the middle and into the back of the net. Folkestone went 1-0 up. We then got a penalty corner and decided to go for our number 4, ’the Vicky’. Although we weren’t all on the same page we pulled it off. 1-1. Both teams were hungry for another goal and stepped up the pace of the game. Canterbury’s ladies 2’s started to threaten our second goal with speedy Alex upgrading our circle entires to shots on goal many times. Against the run of play Folkestone turned over and counter attacked which resulted in a short corner getting awarded. From a great deflection they scored again. 2-1. Canterbury continued to chase a 2-2 draw right until the but were unsuccessful. The game ended 2-1 to Folkestone.
