Canterbury 3s played Burnt Ash in London today. Rearing to go after a strong warmup we got first push back with Canterbury putting the pressure on the defence of Burnt Ash. However they passed an early ball down the wing which resulted in a goal. Nether the less Canterbury kept their heads up and fought back with pressure with Kate intercepting many of their 16 hit outs. At half time we were 2-0 down due to a short corner but with a one two between Lizzie and Eleni a brilliant pass was made forward to Georgia who had a shot on goal and was successful. The majority of the second half Canterbury were completely dominant and burnt ash were on the back foot. Shortly after the umpire stacked it as he was tripped by a burnt ash player (unfortunately he was okay don’t worry!) Towards the end of the game burnt ash were wrongly awarded a penalty flick which went into the back of the net. Once again Canterbury held their heads up and fought back strong right until the end of the game with many runs up the oppositions goal.
