When Maidstone turned up with a bare 11 and no GK, we thought that might be to our advantage. However, we soon discovered that 11 outfield players can fill the pitch very effectively and be very difficult to get around!
We used our subs effectively, one of whom, Lara scored with a shot from the top of the D. As it flew into the top left hand corner, we finally made the most of their missing keeper. HT score 1-0.
Into the second half, we continued our efforts but their defence held strong and made a couple of goal-line saves. Maidstone had several chances too but Ava and our defence were equally as solid and determined to keep a clean sheet.
Final score 1-0.
