After a positive warm up, when we practiced ‘opening the goal’ (thanks Nigel) and had a positive team talk from Foxy, we started the game with confidence and ambition.
Unfortunately, this was quashed by our very attacking opponents whose strong left wing play led to us finding ourselves 3-0 down. After Sapphire had a PC disallowed for not quite leaving the D, we won another PC that Kate Hooker legally put away, making it 3-1 at halftime.
In the second half New Beccs continued to dominate, doubling their goal tally. With no lack of effort or intent, we battled on but it wasn’t to be our day. So we learn from it and move onto next week’s home game against Maidstone.
Well done to all, especially MOM Molly, who had a very strong performance in goal.
