Indoor Weekend Recap
The first weekend the boys travelled up to Manchester as they started off their indoor campaign against a tough home opposition, Brooklands Manchester. Off to a slow start the first game was lost 6-3 whilst we settled into tournament. Following an early defeat we knew we had to step up it and so we did. Winning the next 3 games against West Herts 7-6, Oxted 8 – 4, and Ipswich 3 – 0. Leaving Manchester with 3 wins and 1 loss, we had a big weekend coming up in Bristol.
With one change Prebble (Out), Boyne (In), we had a tough first day as we faced Bath and Ashmoor where came short on both occasions losing 7-5 twice. A difficult day at the office meant that we had to win both games on the final day, and so we did. At 9am we faced Lboro, putting on a fine display winning 5 – 1, going into the last game filled with confidence and no pressure as we were already safe. We faced Doncaster in our final game where we closed two weeks of indoor games in style winning 10 – 2.
