Ladies 3rd XI vs Marden Russetts 1’s (Away) | 05 Nov 22

Lost 1-2

Scorers: May Goldring

MoM: Anna McCabe

The Ladies 3s battled against Marden 1’s away and on a wet and dreary day. We started the match strong and had a few chances in the D with a shot from Nat. After a good attacking phase we were awarded a penalty flick shame the umpire blew early and the ball had ended up in the back of the goal. Anna bravely volunteered but unfortunately the goalie saved the flick. An unlucky counter attack resulted in goal for Marden, 1-0 down. Quick breaks from Canterbury couldn’t be put away. Our defence were under a lot of pressure, and Marden converts a shot corner with a deflection. 2-0 down at half time.

After our team talk at half time, we started the second half of strong. The entire half we battled against Marden to try and even the score. With less than 10 minutes to spare Nat scored us a goal from a great pass from Cara, 2-1. The last 5 minutes remained and we tried to get another goal but unfortunately, couldn’t manage it. Plenty to work on but onwards and upwards to next week
