MoM: Niamh O’Shea
Canterbury ladies 5s team played against Herne Bay 2nd team on the top pitch. Herne bay started off as the dominating team which lead to some strong short corners from their side. One of which lead to a strong goal in the top corner of the net. The game of which was very defensive and more short corners were given with Niamh managing to save very well. Nearing the end of the first half, Suzie managed to get in a shot at the goal which which we all thought went in. However this goal was said to have not counted by the umpires keeping the score the same.
After half time, it started out with Herne Bay mainly dominating our side of the pitch with more short corners for their team with another 3 goals two of which were from short corners which went unluckily through Niamhâs leg. Canterbury then managed to get into their corner with a few near shots at goal but unfortunately not successful. The result of the game was a 4-0 win to Herne Bay, but spirits were high as overall the game play was good. Match report by Kate Hooker
