Lost 1-2
Scorers: Pete Bowell
MoM: Paul Donovan
The Friars travelled this week to Aylesford to face K-Sports. The first half was played in glorious winter sunshine with K-Sport’s younger legs and well organised midfield mounting constant pressure. This forced another supreme effort from the Friars back four who were outstanding – goal line saves from Mike and Jamie, great dominance from Big Pete and Ratty, Biggles put in a big shift and good covering from Brian to switch in. Four at the back is the way forward.
K-Sport scored two good goals including a lethal and textbook tomahawk strike that the first team would have been proud of.
Newcomer Thomas Newell impressed on our right wing with pace and skill, launching a number of counter attacks, but the second half mainly belonged to K-Sports who were dominant.
However, in the closing stages we forced a great save from their keeper and two minutes later Pete Bowell ran onto a nicely weighted through ball into the D and launched a blistering first time strike that he will dream about (and we will certainly hear about!)
Overall it was a good natured duel that finished with K-Sports the deserved 2-1 winners.
