What a glorious day to be playing a winter sport!
The team were anticipating a competitive game and it so proved as they
were immediately on the back foot, suffering a flurry of early attacking from the opposition, prompting GK Harriet to throw herself to the ground with gusto!
Next few phases our forwards battled strongly but were timely tackled and the attacks broke down. This it seems was going to be a pattern of the afternoon.
Defender Lynn, always in control kept her cool on several occasions and saved the score-line.
Unfortunately the ball just wouldn’t fall for us and we headed into the half time expecting more from the second half.
Following a re jig at the back the second half was becoming, competitive, controversial and at time quite heated, unusual for this team as we are such a placid team normally!
The game ended up with four goals against us and a lot to debate in the car journey home.
