Dearest gentle readers,
Yours truly returns with another tale from the hockey pitch! This week, our lovely ladies travelled to Sevenoaks to face their Acorns, in a match filled with twists, turns and just a touch of scandal.
The girls started slowly, caught off guard by the opposition’s unfamiliar press, and Sevenoaks were first to strike. But fear not, dear readers, for EJ soon turned the tide, playing advantage in the D before smashing the ball into the backboard. The momentum had shifted! A few clever tactical plays later, Leah found the goal too, putting our girls ahead.
Half-time: 2–1 to our ladies! 💋
The second half brought plenty of drama. Ellie, Sue, Leah and Pippa pressed relentlessly, launching attack after attack, but the elusive goal simply would not come. Sevenoaks seized their chance on the counter, levelling the score at 2–2.
In midfield, Tilly, Chloe, Sophie and Rachel worked tirelessly to connect their passes and drive forward, while Jina, Taylor, Pip, Lydia and PJ stood firm against the opposition’s counters. And, of course, our ever-watchful goalkeeper Becs ensured no further goals slipped past.
Alas, despite their determination, neither side could find a winner, and the match ended in a draw. But, dearest readers, this is certainly not the end of our story!
Coach Charlie has declared it back to the drawing board, and the girls shall return for the next match, stronger, wiser and ready to prove themselves once more. For if there is one thing we know, it is that these ladies never let a little setback write their final chapter.
Until next time, dear readers…
Yours in hockey and scandal,
