We arrived at a foggy wet pitch. Fortunately this didn’t reflect our outcome! The first half consisted of 2 goals. The first one came from our lovely Megan and we weren’t sure who was more surprised about this goal, Megan or Old Wills. The second goal came from a shortie, where Izzy swung and missed but no whistle was blown and Zoe managed to slip it past the keeper. Other pivotal moments from the first half include… I can’t remember much other than some great play and teamwork!
After our lovely half time sweets and some words of wisdom the second half began. This started strong with some exceptional passes between the girls. Izzy got winded and had to step off and catch her breath. I received my DOD in this half by intercepting the ball and then my legs gave way and I ended up on the floor for a couple of minutes.
After some cracking saves from Ava the oppo unfortunately snuck one in. With the last two minutes Alex wise words were to keep the ball but instead I passed the ball straight to then sideline in our half, Whoopsies. Luckily before anything could happen the final whistle was blown.
Now on to the best part….the match teas. We inhaled some delicious chilli followed by some chocolate cake and juicy grapes!
