Coming off a win from a very special weekend last week, we came into this one in good spirits and keen to continue with a victory.
It was a quiet start and we went into half time 1–0 down, but there was never a sense of panic. We knew if we raised the intensity and trusted our work, our chances would come. The second half was a different story with more hunger, more pressure, and more intent. The equaliser came from a sharp rebound off a short corner from Abbie Bean, and the winner followed from a brilliantly executed corner routine finished by Holly Pattison.
At the other end, the Aurora pulled off some big saves to keep us in front when it mattered most alongside a patient and composed back four. A well deserved MOM was awarded to Juliet Chapman who controlled the tempo in the midfield, keeping possession in the outlet and finding smart options to relieve pressure. It was a true team effort however, with many votes for MOM spread across the team.
With the sun even making an appearance, we dug in, managed the game well, and saw out a hard-earned 2–1 win. On to the next as we head away to London for our penultimate away game of the season.
