The rain cleared in time for a mid table clash against Holcombe. Determined to better our draw in the first half of the season.
Canterbury started strong attacking straight off in their half and D. Play the turned over with speedy counter attacks. Defense held strong.
Mid way through half Holcombe capitalised on a short corner scramble across the line.
Aggrieved at going 1-0 down we attacked strong and after some rapid play Chripy whacked it in from the top of the D. Equalised at half time.
Second half, a bit of back and forth play and attack on both sides. With some interesting decisions not going Canterburys way.
Lots of strong attacking in their half and D resulted finally in a goal from Lottie after some leg work from Curry. Canterbury lead 2-1.
Canterbury then when down to 10 players after a reasonable questioning of the umpires resulted in a green card for Lizzie.
Holcombe used this opportunity and headed out strong to create an overloaded situation for our defense and valiant saving from Ro in goal but an open goal opportunity presented.
Now at 2-2 Canterbury pushed hard to try and get another whilst also making sure not to concede further goals. Ending in draw 2-2. Adrenaline filled game with lots of grit and speed work. Well done girls.
