The team arrived for our home fixture against Hampstead with high spirits and an elevated intensity following a solid warm-up. Everyone was ready to give it their all as the game kicked off.

The first quarter was a hard-fought contest, with both teams pushing for attacking opportunities but unable to break through. After 15 minutes of intense action, the score remained 0-0.

Unfortunately, the second quarter didn’t go our way. Despite fighting hard, we conceded two goals, leaving us with a two-goal deficit at the half-time whistle.

However, a passionate half-time discussion sparked a renewed sense of determination in the squad. We came out for the second half firing, taking advantage of Hampstead’s slow start to put one in the back board in the first 10 seconds.

We maintained the intensity with a high press, creating pressure and forcing turnovers. Our connections in the midfield were flowing better, and our defense was impenetrable, with some crucial saves from our outstanding goalkeeper keeping us in the game.

Despite a much-improved second half performance, Hampstead held on to their lead, and the game ended with a 2-1 victory for them. We’re disappointed not to take the points, but we can take plenty of positives from the match. We’ll focus on these lessons in training and be ready to bounce back next weekend.
