CANTERBURY: 0
OLD LOUGHTS: 1

The Canterbury Men’s 1s gathered on Presidents day to take on Old Loughts. Starting the game strong, the boys were putting Old Loughts under pressure, earning a few corners early but unfortunately struggling to convert, narrowly missing two rebound shots. The game continued to be an even battle for the first half, with Canterbury creating plenty of chances and keeper Chris keeping out any opportunity’s Old Loughts created. After sustaining some attacking pressure from Old Loughts, they eventually earned a corner, converting and putting the score at 0-1 to end the first half.

As the boys entered the second half, they were full of energy and came out strong. Man of the match Ben Young set the tone, becoming a brick wall in the backline. Canterbury denied any attacking threat Old Loughts tried to generate, keeping the ball up in our attacking half for a majority of the second half. Despite holding majority of the possession and creating numerous chances to get on the score board, Canterbury couldn’t find the back of the net, and the game ended 1-0 to Old Loughts.
