Dear Diary
WE’RE BACCCKKK. Did you miss us? Because we missed you
On an unexpectedly hot September afternoon, the ladies 2’s gathered for the first league game of the season against last seasons bronze medal winners. With the tunes blasting and the vibes flowing, the ladies 2’s were ready to go.
Some lovely play between both teams meant the action was end to end. Canterbury took the upper hand with a lovely diving reverse goal from Holly (on her 2’s debut may we add). Pumped by the 1-0 advantage, Canterbury continued to press. A raring half-time talk by Ziggy and it time to turn it up a notch. Starting the second half it was 1-1 (we’re trying to pretend they didn’t equalise by not talking about their goal). Continuing to pile on the pressure, Canterbury were playing high up the pitch eagerly hoping for another goal. The opportunity came when Tara took a quick free hit and drilled into the circle. BANG. Tara connected with the ball ball and a cheeky deflection / steal from Vicky meant the score was now 2-1. Fast forward a little bit and the score was 2-2 (again if we don’t mention the oppositions goals, did they even happen?). Tunbridge Wells were awarded a flurry of short corners by the umpire, with the fan favourite coming from Lara (DOD) attempting to throw her mask over the baseline, missing and hitting Jina, therefore abandoning her mask in the middle of the D and creating “dangerous play”. Shortly after this, by some stroke of luck, Tunbridge Wells were awarded a penalty flick. The spectators watched on in anticipation but the ladies 2’s were not intimated for we had Becs in goal. And of course, she saved the p flick. Player of the match behaviour right there.
See you next week
Xoxo
